November 2021 Virginia History Hunt Highlights

A small group of History Hunt Club Members joined together for a three day metal detecting tour of the history rich lands of Virginia. We detected on sites with activity ranging from colonial times to the Civil War. The weather was very nice and everyone made some interesting discoveries. Pictured are some of the highlights. These included US and CS Civil War bullets; Civil War Eagle buttons; Native American artifacts including a large well used, ground and polished hard stone celt; Civil War relics including box finials, J-hook and small buckles; colonial relics including early buckles, lots of one piece buttons and a complete brass skeleton key; a very small silver ingot; silver cufflink and a rare lead seal marked for the Richmond and Danville Railroad which was an important line for the Confederacy in Virginia during the Civil War. Hope everyone has a peaceful Thanksgiving and gets out for some good old relic hunting!
